| We have spent almost 7 000km with our Toyota RAV4 and the one thing that stands out is that this is a very easy vehicle to live with. Like most SUVs our long-term RAV4 spends more time in the city than on the open road or dirt tracks. However, it is clear that the RAV4 is quite at ease to be a city slicker. On the few occasions where our RAV4 faced the open road, it proved to be an able cruiser. We gave the RAV4 to Wheels24 business manager Nic van den Bergh to drive for a few days. Here are his comments: "Being 6.3 the seating, I didn't find the seating position to be the best as it feels like I am sitting at a piano pushing down on the peddles. The interior is rather bland and tacky while the fascia layout isn't very sensible. "Despite these two criticisms I have really started to like this versatile SUV. The styling is great and looks good in the dark blue colour. "The engine goes like a bomb throughout the gear range and even easily overtakes hot hatches between traffic lights! On the open road the RAV4 cruisers along regardless of the hills having very little body roll in the corners, which I found surprising for a SUV. "My wife and I have just had our first child and the boot has swallowed all the various paraphernalia that comes with having a baby - it swallowed easily a pram, cot and stroller with lots of extra space still at hand." Likes so far - Engine - Drivability - Road manners - Versatility Dislikes so far - Fascia layout - Bland interior - Seating position for taller drivers Reader feedback If you own a new generation RAV4 we would like to hear from you.
